Hello!

I'm Lauren, a homeschooling mom of three curious, creative, and wonderfully energetic girls.

I spent over 15 years working in the fashion industry, developing products for brands around the world. Fashion wasn't just my career, it was something I genuinely loved, and never intended to leave.

Then I decided to homeschool my children (for a variety of reasons that I will spare you, unless you want to know!) .

Like so many homeschooling parents, I found myself trying to balance the work I loved with the life I wanted to build for my children. Traditional fashion jobs demand long hours, in-office work, travel, and deadlines that simply doesn’t fit the season of life I am in. I am not ready to sacrifice fashion, but I also won’t give up homeschooling.

I was getting so frustrated trying to figure out how I could do both - be a homeschooling mom and keep my dream job.

I thought, why not make fashion meet me where I am at in this season? So, I combined the work I love doing (fashion) with the work I live for (my children).

I realized fashion was an incredible doorway into so many other subjects. Clothing tells the story of civilizations. It teaches history, geography, art, science, technology, economics, and culture—all through something children naturally find interesting and tangible, so I began creating the curriculum I couldn't find.

That's how Fashion Lab was born.

Every lesson inside Fashion Lab has been designed with homeschooling families in mind because that's exactly where it started. These are the kinds of activities I wanted for my own children—creative, meaningful, educational, and memorable.
